Lavender Blue Lavender Farm

Perhaps it was providence that Lavender Blue started its lavender farm in Sparta, Ontario - for the Quakers brought lavender to North America and it was the Quakers that established the historic community of Sparta. Jonathan Doan, a Quaker from Philadelphia, first settled the area after the War of 1812. Sparta grew and prospered and within twenty years, its commerce included a tannery, a grist-mill and a distillery as well as Sparta’s famous blacksmith shop known as the Forge. The Forge’s two foot thick walls, made of clay and straw, today house the Sparta Museum. Sparta’s development was heavily influenced by the Greek Revival that was popular during the 1800’s. This is not only evident in much of the architecture, but also in the naming of the village itself. Its historical buildings, which still stand today, include the Quaker Meeting House, Eakins Hardware Store, Sparta House, Temperance House and Hiram B. Smith’s General Store. Come experience a day in the country with a visit to Lavender Blue Lavender Farm and the historic village of Sparta, Ontario.

Lavender Hills Lavender Farm

Toni & John started a family in England 1981. They thoroughly enjoyed the concept of their own business but found the English market hard to get ahead in, so in 1997 they took a leap and moved to La Charente, France.

They instantly fell in love with the locale and customs and enjoyed 6 years of sun, wine, great food and lavender. When their youngest daughter Vicky had found a college in Canada to continue her studies in archeology they jumped at the new adventure, and created a unique business plan for Ontario. Lavender...

Quebec Map of Canada
Joie de Lavande

Fields of fragrant lavender and a charming boutique lure day-trippers to this bucolic property in Quebec's Eastern Townships.

When creating Joie de Lavande, the owners wanted a place that reflected the relaxing properties of the flower. Visitors are encouraged to make full use of the land, including a picturesque pond at the back of the property.

Bleu Lavande

As you drive along the old historic road, with its tunnel of trees, stretching along majestic Fitch Bay, and pass beside the old Narrows covered bridge, you will discover a haven of peace called Domaine Bleu Lavande.

Situated near the village of Fitch Bay, Domaine Bleu Lavande is located at the summit of a hill more than 300 metres high. Here, our carefully tended lavender plants receive the benefit of all the warmth and light they need to grow well.

Thanks to the exceptional quality of our plants, they are able to obtain an essential oil that is 100% pure and of a very high quality. It is the delicate fragrance of this essential oil that has been the inspiration for each of their products, and it is this fragrance that continues to inspire us today.

Bleu Lavande, pioneers in growing lavender in Quebec, is the biggest lavender producer in Canada and one of the biggest in North America.
